In 1998, Kuang Tien formed the first Hospice Care Team in the Central West Coast of Taiwan, and established the first Inpatient Hospice Unit in 2000.  In 2001, Kuang Tien was granted approval by the Department of Health to join the [Hospice Home Health Care Services Program] and became the only medical facility in the Central Western Coast of Taiwan, consequently becoming the sole provider of 24 hour hospice home health care in its community.  Kuang Tien was also awarded the [Multi-Specialty Hospice Care Program] grant by the Department of Health's Bureau of Health Promotion, thus forming a network to combine outpatient, inpatient, and home health care services for terminally-ill patients. 

Kuang Tien is the only hospital in the Central Western Coast of Taiwan to be qualified and accredited to provide Hospice Home Health Care.  Kuang Tien's Hospice Home Health Care is available 24 hours a day.  Kuang Tien's Hospice Volunteer Team is extraordinarily compassionate, offering an umbrella of physical and spiritual guidance and support to terminally-ill patients and their families.
