Background:

Mr. Than is a leather manufacturer in Myanmar who had been exposed to chemicals for a long time causing him to have a nasal congestion, but it was not until he had feeling of foreign body at left ear that sought medical attention in Yangon.  He was diagnosed to have early Nasopharyngeal carcinoma.  His friend recommended Kuang Tien’s Cancer Center and with the help of the efficient International Health Services Center, Mr. Than was able to come to Taiwan on a medical visa to seek treatment within a few weeks. After his arrival, the coordinators assisted with living arrangements and their personal need. Kuang Tien also had Burmese doctors who helped with professional translations. Though far away home, the Than family felt at home in Kuang Tien.
