Patient Name: Jimmy Visit Date:2013/05/01 Procedure: Total Knee Replacement Nationality:USA
Age: 61 years old
Background:
Jimmy is an American missionary who has lived in Hong Kong for decades. His work used to be focused in rural parts of China, spreading the gospel by traveling on foot for long hours. However, his knees began to degenerate and it became too painful and slow to walk. This forced him to stay in Hong Kong and work from there, but even going up the stairs or daily tasks started to become difficult as his knees got worse. He had consulted doctors in Hong Kong but the costs were too high for him so he kept putting off the surgery. One day, a friend of a friend recommended a hospital in Taichung, Taiwan that could perform the surgery, at a reasonable cost, by an experienced English speaking Orthopedic surgeon. After some email communication, Jimmy decided to come to Taiwan for the surgery. |
