Background:
In May of 2015, Evelyn hurt her left ankle while walking down the stairs in her home in Idaho. Her doctor diagnosed that it was a muscle strain and for her to just rest, but Evelyn still suffered from ankle pain for another half a year. In February of 2016, Evelyn visited her son and daughter-in-law who were working at Micron in Taichung, Taiwan. They took her to Kuang Tien General Hospital, where they usually seek medical care. The International Health Services Center at the hospital helped arranged an Executive Outpatient Clinic with Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Tseng Shan- Wen, who diagnosed that she needed a Tendon Decompression Surgery. The English-proficient team efficiently arranged the surgery and now she is recovering well and looking forward to getting back to her favorite activities: horseback riding and gardening.
