Visit Date: 2015/12/03
Procedure: Orthopedic Exam
Nationality: USA
Age: 8 years old
Background:
Peter is a student at the American School in Taichung, Taiwan. He was at school one day when he fell and hurt his right knee. He visited doctors in two different hospitals in Taichung, and all told him to come back in a week if the pain persisted. His mother felt anxious and wanted to know if it was serious since an unattended injury at age 11 could affect growth and recovery later on. She heard about Kuang Tien’s International Health Services Center and made an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Yang Jen-Yuen. Dr. Yang spoke perfect English and patiently listened to their concerns, which they found to be refreshing. The team efficiently helped him arrange an MRI and Dr. Huang confirmed that he didn’t have a broken bone. Peter and his family were excited to share their experience as they felt our team truly offered patient-centered, compassionate care to international patients.
