Mr. Wu, Jui-Tang, executive vice president of KTGH, pointed out that KTGH has promoted environmental protection and energy conservation for many years. KTGH has been praised by the presidential palace and supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Also, KTGH won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award certified by the magazine media. The great effect of saving energy and reducing carbon emission on hardware equipment is obvious to all. The medical team and all colleagues in KTGH also advocate environmental protection. KTGH regularly hold environmental friendly events such us beach cleanup and promoting own utensils annually. A part from that, it is necessary to promote a valid way to reduce the amount of plastic usage.
Mr. Wu said due to humid weather, people are likely to buy cool drinks. Although most people have awareness of environmental protection and prepare their own reusable cups, most of hospital staffs still use a great number of disposable plastic cups every month (estimated ten thousand each month) because they prefer to order delivery beverages due to caring for the patients and others and staying in wards or offices.
For this case, KTGH initiates to cooperate with “Goodtogo” and promote it as one of the environmental friendly projects in 2015. KTGH has set up a station and become the first cooperating company with “Goodtogo”. When the staffs in KTGH purchase drinks or call for drink delivery with their employee’s card, they can choose to use reusable cups for free and also receive further discount. Once they finish the drink, they can return it at the machine which is set up in the hospital.
Ms. Song, Yi-Zhen, one of the founders of the “Goodtogo”, said that in the past, there was only short-term cooperation with other companies. Ms. Song was very surprised that nowadays most companies and/or hospitals rarely promote environmental protection but KTGH, which takes a serious concern about environment, initiates to cooperate with “Goodtogo” for long-term. Because of that, “Goodtogo” has prepared 600 reusable cups and cooperate with more than 10 beverage shops, located nearby KTGH, encouraging more and more people being a part of loving our earth.
