Self-Assessment for Common Aftereffects of Brain Injury

Car accidents, falls, and sports impacts can lead to acute and chronic brain injuries. The common aftereffects of head trauma can significantly affect daily life. If you experience the following symptoms within 2 to 6 months after an injury, it may indicate that you are suffering from a brain injury.

Brain fog:

  • Inability to concentrate or focus
  • Short attention span
  • Cloudy thinking or reduced cognitive ability
  • Feeling dazed

Headache:

  • Migraine
  • Stiff neck and shoulders

Insomnia:

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Inability to stay asleep
  • Poor sleep quality

High sensitivity to light:

  • Artificial light at home or in stores
  • Screen light from phones, computers, TVs, etc.

High sensitivity to sound:

  • Traffic noise
