With the increase of patients with emergency care needs, and the increase
of accident severity, Kuang Tien established the Emergency Department
in 1991, providing 24 hour emergency medical services. In 1997, the
Da-Jia branch Emergency Department was established to provide
emergency care services to the Da-jia and neighboring communities.
Thus, the Emergency Medicine Department at Kuang Tien General Hospital
plays an important role of emergency medical care in the Central West
Coast of Taiwan. In 2013, Kuang Tien was the only hospital in Taiwan with
both branches Certified by the Department of Health as a First Rate
Emergency Care Hospital, without the need for further certification.
